SURVEY: IT PROJECT MANAGERS MOST IN DEMAND

I.T. Alliance Resourcing survey highlights what tech jobs are most in demand.

Project managers closely followed by help desk, desk side and network support engineers head the list of most in demand jobs across the tech sector according to a new survey of open roles by I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services.

The company, which is a subsidiary of services and consultancy company, I.T. Alliance Group, sources I.T. professionals for some of the largest technology companies in the country.  I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services analysed 126 job vacancies which it will be promoting at Career Zoo in the Convention Centre, Dublin on the 15th February. 

Over a quarter of the open roles are for project managers, and one in five jobs is for helpdesk and support roles. There are also a wide range of other jobs available from network engineers and systems administrators to Java, .NET and SharePoint developers.

"The growth in cloud computing is fuelling demand not only for people with remote I.T. management and support skills, but for project management, I.T. security and network professionals to oversee its implementation and support," commented Shaun Brown (Resourcing Manager, I.T. Alliance Group). "Demand is buoyant not only in Dublin but in Cork and Limerick as well."

3. Network Engineer incl. System Administrators, Networking), 12.7%

5. Developers (incl. Java, .NET and SharePoint), 7.5%
6. Business Operations Managers, 7.1%
7. Technical and Solutions Architects, 5.5%
8. Testing, 5.5%
9. Infrastructure incl. Storage and Database Consultants, 4.7%
10. Other, 0.8%
