Data Engineer

Job Overview: 

As a Data Engineer with expertise in Data Warehousing & Data Transformation, you will bring your knowledge of developing large-scale data analytic solutions and extensive experience with Microsoft platforms. Your role is critical in delivering the Data Strategy of an organisation. You will be responsible for developing cloud data management solutions for Auxilion’s customers in multiple industries, ensuring that our customers have timely access to high-quality information that enables informed decision making, and integration between core systems.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Implement and manage data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow across various systems.
  • Develop and optimize data models for efficient storage, integration, and retrieval.
  • Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and Microsoft technologies.

Technical Competencies: 

  • 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft data technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other Microsoft data tools.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database).
  • Experience delivering data solutions in a DevOps environment and use of CI/CD tools in a data engineering context.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dbt Precog, Fivetran or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Business acumen to understand and address industry-specific data challenges.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic business solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer with a specialisation in Data Extraction, Transformation, Integration (ETL/ELT), Big Data Models, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Certification in Microsoft Azure services, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related technologies.
  • Excellent understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant technical certifications are desirable (eg: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer).
