Role Overview

This role will be responsible for the maintenance and configuration tasks in the ServiceNow platform. Taking ownership of incidents being raised against the ServiceNow requests is a big part of the role but some other duties consist of general administration around tasks set in ServiceNow, customizations in the ServiceNow catalogue (these are Requests, Incidents, Problems, Change Management) and maintenance of cycles and patches which include things like testing and fixes.

The focus of this role is to participate in driving success and improvements around the platform where possible. You will also work on ITSM core modules and other features like ITOM, Workflow and integrations with ServiceNow.

You will work with other teams such as IT Infrastructure, Application Support and DevOps Delivery.

 

Role Responsibilities: 

 

  • Performing the day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform in support of the growing ServiceNow capabilities
  • Maintaining the stability and usability of the platform across production and nonproduction environments
  • Performing application maintenance to include performance monitoring and error identification and remediation
  • Managing support for incidents and service requests related to ServiceNow
  • Planning and execution of upgrading, patching and cloning schedules
  • Managing instance security: user/group access, administration, access control lists
  • Providing configuration assistance to developers
  • Working with the Business Analyst to rapidly expand and automate our service catalogue
  • Creation & maintenance of ServiceNow knowledge to support users and internal processes

Competencies:

  • ServiceNow Administration Certified
  • Previous experience in a ServiceNow customer or partner
  • Experience in Discovery and Service Mapping to populate the CMDB
  • Understanding of ITIL methodologies
  • Experience in Orchestration to automate tasks
  • Understanding of a broad range of technologies such as Windows Server, Azure Cloud, Databases, JavaScript, PowerShell, Terraform etc.
  • Experience of reporting & dashboards and basic performance monitoring
  • Good communication skills both written and oral, especially when talking to non-technical staff.
  • Experience in working and delivering in a high-pressure environment with multiple priorities.
