Network Consultant

Dublin, Hybrid Network Consultant
The successful candidate will be responsible for the network and security elements of our customer’s environment. This includes the wired and wireless networks, network security systems, remote access and monitoring systems. This position will be based remotely, but you may be required to go onsite as and when required (Dublin area).

 

What will you be doing:

  • Deployment, maintenance and development of the network environments
  • Provide L3 Network support for various customer network environments
  • Interaction with project teams to facilitate new systems and upgrades
  • Working in a support environment focusing on continuous operation of the various customer sites, many of them running in a high availability configuration
  • Provide support and monitoring services across all areas of the network to ensure uninterrupted service and availability within the customer environment
  • Incident resolution and monitoring of the estate through a number of key monitoring tools
  • Act as an escalation point in the network troubleshooting process
  • Creation and maintenance of High Level and Low-Level designs for existing and new infrastructure
  • Participates in availability, capacity and change management processes.
  • Daily monitoring and escalation of any issues ensuring a continuity of service.
  • Ensure compliance of all 3rd parties to security policies
  • Responsible for extending the principles of IT security (based on ISO 27000) across the customer estate

What experience/skills will you have:

  • Certification or proven equivalent knowledge of: Cisco CCNP or JNCP level Routing, and Switching, and Wireless, and Security.
  • Strong background in Network engineering with a particular focus on security, high availability, medium and large-scale environments
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in several of the following network protocols, technologies, and standards: 802.1q, 802.1x, 802.11, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, RADIUS, NTP, DNS, DHCP
  • Broad/Hands on knowledge across leading network vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Barracuda and Checkpoint
  • Enterprise wireless experience (Aruba, Cisco)
  • Microsoft Azure networking experience
  • Network analysis and robust troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of working in a large network environments
  • Experience in delivering network projects
  • Service oriented behavior and communication to internal customers.
  • Experience with face-to-face customer liaison.
  • Qualities: Integrity, attention to detail, timeline sensitive, goal oriented, motivated, pro-active in their approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills and interpersonal skills are key.
  • Commitment to learning and development of creative support solutions.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Cisco CCIE is favorable
  • Experience with NAC Solutions like Cisco ISE or Aruba Clearpass
