Senior Deskside Engineer

Auxilion, part of I.T. Alliance Group, is looking for a Senior Deskside Engineer. As part of Auxilion you will work directly on a client site working closely with the in-house team to provide the best possible technical service and customer experience that the client requires.

Role Overview

The Senior Deskside Engineer will offer support within our Citywest based Multinational customer providing technical assistance for hardware and software issues, participate in migrations, projects and implementations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in a deskside support role, preferably in a multi-national environment
  • Ability to provide primary & secondary technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software and peripherals
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent business friendly communication and customer service skills
  • Investigate and resolve service incidents, with a focus on SLA and prioritising by severity
  • Experience in updating ticking systems, managing work queues and completing daily/weekly reports
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other IT staff and support groups and explain technical issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work under pressure, and balance project work with day-to-day activity
  • Provide occasional out of hours planned and unplanned work and emergency support to our customer
  • There may be a need, dependent on projects/activities, to travel to other customer office in EMEA for installation, configuration and or support purposes

Technical Competencies:

  • In depth experience on configuring and supporting Windows desktop/laptop systems
  • Working knowledge of imaging systems (SCCM, MDT)
  • Working knowledge of configuring & supporting Citrix environments
  • Working knowledge of configuring & supporting Video Conference systems (Cisco, Polycom) and meeting room audio systems
  • Working knowledge of configuring & supporting Microsoft applications (Outlook, Office, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft products Windows 10, Office, Exchange.
  • Understanding of concepts such as WAN, LAN, Intranet versus Internet

Skills, Experience and Business Competencies: 

Additional skills/experience

  • Linux – competent in base level support and troubleshooting
  • Apple MAC – competent in base level support and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of configuring and supporting MDM solutions (Airwatch, InTune)


Business Competencies

  • Good communications and teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential
  • Third level qualification would be desirable but not essential
