Business Development Representative

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our dynamic sales team in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with a passion for technology and a knack for building relationships. As a key member of our sales organisation, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities within the Irish IT market, playing a crucial role in our company's growth and expansion.

Role Responsibilities: 

Working with clients who typically have between 250 and 5000 users you will develop and cultivate relevant contacts from C- level through to technical influencers and drive revenue for the various solutions on offer from Auxilion. The following activities are important for success in the role:

  • Building strong relationship with customer at all levels.
  • Researching the market and related (and competitive) products.
  • Work closely with technical Pre Sales, Architect and Consulting resources to understand customer requirements and position relevant solutions.
  • Work closely with bid management team to deliver suitable proposals.
  • Presenting the service offerings in a structured professional way face to face.
  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails.
  • Calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential new markets.
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
  • Gathering market and customer information.
  • Representing the organisation at trade exhibitions and events.
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers.
  • Challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy.
  • Advising on forthcoming new service and product developments and discussing special promotions.
  • Liaising with the delivery organisation to ensure everything running smoothly.
  • Recording and reporting sales information on the company CRM system.
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements.
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with proposals and quotations.
  • Feeding future buying trends back to the business.
  • Attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues.
  • Attending weekly / monthly and quarterly sales meeting to report your progress and win.

Technical & Professional Competencies: 

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • Proven experience in a business development, sales, or customer-facing role, ideally within the IT sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Irish business landscape and IT market.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective cold outreach and build rapport with new contacts.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify and qualify potential leads.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales enablement tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive and resilient attitude with a desire to learn and grow.

The role will be targeted on:

  • Successful delivery of sales target – Gross Margin Orders – and helping to grow the business year on year  
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams
  • Information recording on CRM system and strong reporting capability
