Deskside Support Engineer - Galway

On-site – Ballybrit, GalwayPermanent

Role Overview

The scope is to provide onsite end-user support, provision of hardware such as laptops, iPads, mobile phones and peripherals.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Minimum 1-2 years previous experience in on-site Technical Support role.
  • Ability to provide primary technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with ITSM ticketing tools, ITIL processes, Asset Management and Escalation Management.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent business-friendly communication and customer service skills.
  • Investigate and resolve service incidents, with a focus on SLA and prioritising by severity.
  • Experience in updating ticking systems, managing work queues and completing daily/weekly reports.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate with other IT staff, and explain technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and balance project work with day-to-day activity.
  • Provide occasional out of hours planned and unplanned work and emergency support to our customers

Technical Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of desktop, laptop and mobile device hardware, operating systems and protocols

  • Key requirements include:
      • Windows 10
      • Microsoft Office suites
      • Laptop, Desktop and Peripheral Hardware
      • Mobile devices (iOS, Android)
      • Intune, Company portal and Microsoft Authenticator

  • Additional skills include
