Supporting the PMI National Conference 2019

Auxilion will be attending the 2019 Project Management National Conference in Fota Island Hotel, Cork on Thursday 28th February.

The Project Management National Conference is Ireland’s largest annual conference for project managers with over 300 delegates from across Ireland expected to attend. The event is held by the Ireland Chapter of PMI which is focused on promoting project management principals within the community, business, and practitioners by bringing PMI members in Ireland together.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘From Idea to Reality’. President of the Ireland Chapter of PMI, Pat Lucey said: “The 2019 conference, themed From Idea to Reality, will provide a unique opportunity to explore how project management is utilised to deliver projects from conception to completion.” The national conference is an opportunity for project management professionals across IT, public sector, construction, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing to gain insight from leading experts in the industry along with well-known Irish and international figures who are making waves in their respective fields

Attendees will hear from leading experts in the industry along with well-known Irish and international figures who are progressing in their field. Lucey has also stated that ‘‘All our speakers have used key project management skills to deliver their ideas into reality, whether it is designing state-of-the-art homes, winning a World Cup medal or utilising disruptive technologies to achieve results.”

The line up looks to make for some very interesting debates and provide plenty of food for thought.  Speakers include:

  • Architect Dermot Bannon: Dermot will discuss his experiences and explain how to successfully communicate disruptive ideas to project stakeholders in his talk entitled ‘Driving Change through Creativity & Disruptive Thinking’, Dermot
  • Ireland hockey player, Yvonne O’Brien will be describing her team’s journey to the hockey world cup final.
  • Aoibheann O’Brien, Co-founder of FoodHub the Dublin-based social enterprise, connecting food businesses with surplus food to nearby charities through technology, will explain how she has used her project management skills to relocate resources to help feed the world.

Attendees will also hear from the likes of Danny Curran of Aid:Tech Christine Barrett who director of inside sales at Microsoft, Jim Snyder the co-founder of the PMI.
